4/12/2012 Filed under Press Releases

Honolulu - Hawai'i News Now and the Hawai'i Energy Policy Forum are partnering to produce and broadcast “Hawai'i: The State of Clean Energy - Season 2”. The four-show series, Season 2 aims to build on the foundation set in Season 1, with the same goal to inform and engage the public on energy issues, challenges, and actions to advance Hawai'i's clean energy future. Hawaii Energy is one of a number of entities underwriting this series.

Last season’s series brought projects and programs underway to make the shift to clean energy. This year the series dig deeper at the issues and positions to engage the public in the real issues and challenges and what we can/must do to move ahead if we are to have a clean energy future.

A lot is happening to get Hawai'i off oil and secure our energy future - but it's not easy and a lot more must be done at all levels (individual, business, community, government, etc.). Hear from the various perspectives. Get involved and help move us to a brighter future. Specifically, the series will examine some of the issues and controversies in achieving clean energy: (1) Hawai'i's clean energy vision from various perspectives; (2) "Chop sui resources" on fueling our future to achieve the vision; (3) "Are we an island state or a state of islands?” on the costs of a statewide vision; and (4) Hawai'i's future – can we achieve the vision: where are we and where do we need to go?  For more information, click here.
