- Changed to low-flow shower heads, faucets and/or toilets
- Installed solar water heating or photovoltaic (PV)
- Replaced old appliance(s) with ENERGY STAR® units
Saved at least $25 from their previous electric bill by using fans instead of air conditioners, lowering water heater temperature, turning off electronic equipment or any energy-saving activities
2. An Energy Hero shares energy efficient and/or environmental practices with their family, friends and/or communities.
Examples:
- Shares energy-saving tips with their family, friends and neighbors
- Instituted recycling in their home, office, school or neighborhood
- Supports environmental programs, like tree planting, road and beach clean-ups, removal of invasive species and more
